We are so excited to be hosting ACES FOR ALS on Saturday, April 20 on the Cal Lutheran campus at the Gilbert Sports Arena!

The funds raised -- in memory of Lauren Heller's father, Kevin Heller -- will benefit the California-based ALS Network (formerly the ALS Association Golden West Chapter) and its urgent mission priorities related to ALS care, research, and advocacy. Who: Hosted by the Cal Lutheran Women's Volleyball team.

Parking: FREE!! On campus outside the Sports Arena.

What is ALS?  Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease) is a 100% fatal, neurodegenerative illness through which a person loses the ability to talk, walk, swallow, and eventually to breathe.  There are no known cures and only very modest treatments on the market. The life expectancy of someone diagnosed is 2-5 years, on average.  Veterans are twice as likely to be diagnosed as the civilian population, and we don't know why.  Learn more at alsnetwork.org

Funds raised will go toward:

• Supporting care and caregiver services, multidisciplinary clinics, support groups, equipment lending, respite care, and transportation
• Cutting-edge research projects in California and wherever the best science is
• Supporting advocacy efforts to expand government support of research and to make treatments and care accessible and affordable for all ALS patients.

We need to do everything we can in support of ALS care, cures, and community. Together, let's make a difference!
